The Future is Now...

And it's somewhat underwhelming. I set out at the beginning of the year with lofty goals. I find myself nearing the end of the year having barely achieved one of them. Writing regularly was clearly not it.

I did manage to play a more boardgames. While I slowed somewhat on the acquisition of new titles, I did manage to get Gloomhaven to the table with a regular group. For nearly 3 months we have had regular Saturday gaming sessions, and have progressed a good way into the very extensive campaign. I am looking foreward to continuing this into 2020. And maybe beyond with the announcement of Frosthaven.

I have yet to find a programming hobby task. Partly because I simply don't find myself using the laptop that often. Without a proper desktop and office space I lack the desire or comfort to spend much time with screen tasks more challenging than social media and reading.

Which also explains the lack of writing. This was scribed on my tablet with painful slowness and extreme awkwardness. Not something I would enjoy on a regular basis.

So, goals were set and largely ignored. Perhaps I'll feel inspired again in January to set my gaze in 2020 on lofty heights. At least this will be here to serve as a reminder that just because you set a goal it doesn't mean you'll achieve it. Or even remember you set it 11 months prior. 🤷‍♂️
